Sacombank and JCB card have upgraded their 3D-Secure multi-level security system for card transactions from version 1.0 to 2.0 for JCB international cards.

In 2020, Sacombank became one of the first lenders to cooperate with international card issuers Visa and MasterCard to upgrade its 3D-Secure multi-level security system to version 2.0 according to EMV standards.

With the new upgrade, Sacombank aims to perfect its card security system, enhance the safety of online card transactions, speed up the transaction process, and enable cardholders to easily experience cutting-edge banking services.

3D-Secure is an enhanced security authentication layer for cardholders making payments online.

Version 2.0 applies a risk-based authentication (RBA) system to increase the transaction processing rate, speed up processing time and bolster security, allowing customers to use more new authentication methods such as biometrics (fingerprint, face ID) through the Sacombank mSign application and Smart OTP on SacombankPay application instead of just an SMS OTP and other token authentication devices.

This latest version also helps combat impersonation such as simulating a similar website to steal card information, and helps customers transact on many different devices/platforms such as mobile phones, websites and online shopping apps.

3D-Secure 2.0 is registered by default free of charge and is available to all Sacombank Visa, Sacombank Mastercard and Sacombank JCB international cardholders.

Being a pioneer in adopting the latest card technologies, especially for security, Sacombank received the latest version of 3.2.1 PCI-DSS (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard) certification for an eighth consecutive year in 2021.

PCI DSS is a security standard established by the Security Standards Council (PCI Security Standards Council) that consists of members such as Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover Financial Services, and JCB International.

Thanks to its unceasing efforts to apply advanced technologies and information security, Sacombank is always an industry leader in card revenues.

It is also the leader in terms of online payment transactions using international cards. — VNS
