Sacombank has joined the annual Cashless Day organised by Tuoi Tre (Youth) newspaper for a third time, with attractive promotions to stimulate the use of non-cash payments.
The programme seeks to raise public awareness of the benefits of cashless payment and promote the non-cash payment habit in the community.
This year the lender has launched a programme called ‘Cashless Day - Get Millions of Offers’ for customers who own Sacombank personal international credit cards or use e-banking services or services at its counters between June 14 and July 31.
During the promotion period customers who use Sacombank cards on applications such as Baemin, Grab Food, Tiki, Shopee, Lazada, Sendo, and SBJ get a reduction of up to 30 per cent, and customers making international payments using internet banking will have the fee waived.
From now until June 20, customers using e-banking services to transfer money only have to pay a fee of VND1,000 per transaction (excluding VAT) on all transactions. They also get an instant discount of up to 50 per cent when topping up their phones between noon and 2pm.
For customers transacting at its counters, Sacombank will waive six months of management fees when they open a new payment account or combo packages, and waive the management fee for another six months when they register for bill payments or future deposits.
The bank also cut the domestic payment fee by 30 per cent for all customers using combo packages and the Sacombank Pay financial management app.
The lender is also offering other attractive incentives such as waiver of fees when transferring money via Sacombank Pay to account numbers or domestic cards within and outside the Sacombank system until July 31, and waiver of annual fee for the first year for customers getting a Visa or Mastercard international card this year.
Nguyen Minh Tam, deputy CEO of Sacombank, said the highlight of Sacombank this year is the deployment of certain new technologies for the first time in Viet Nam such as Tap to phone technology that enables merchants to use their mobile phones or tablets as a point-of-sale terminal for contactless payments.
Businesses just need to download the mMerchant app and complete the setup and register online via the Rapid Seller Onboarding to become a card accepting unit quickly and easily, he said.
Sacombank also promotes payment via QR code scanning in which it is a pioneer, he added.
From June 15 the bank will co-ordinate with Napas to deploy VietQR - Quick money transfer service using QR code, which is appropriate for small transactions. — VNS
