Saigon Thuong Tin Commercial Joint Stock Bank (Sacombank) has been conferred the title of HCM City’s Outstanding Enterprise in 2020 for its strict compliance with the laws, excellent business performance, innovation, and contributions to the city’s socio-economic development.
The bank’s pre-tax profit in the first nine months was VND2.4 trillion (US$103.4 million), or 90 per cent of its target for the full year.
Sacombank remains a pioneer in launching hi-tech products and services, thus keeping abreast of global trends, like financial management application Sacombank Pay, chip cards to meet EMV standards, non-physical cards, and online customer identity verification (eKYC).
It has also implemented a number of programmes to support customers who are facing difficulties caused by Covid-19 such as waiver or reduction of online transactions fees and preferential loan packages for individual and corporate customers.
At the award presentation ceremony, Nguyen Duc Thach Diem, the bank’s CEO and a member of the board of directors, was conferred the award for HCM City’s Outstanding Entrepreneur in 2020 for adopting appropriate development strategies and innovative management, which have yielded positive results not only for Sacombank but also society.
She has restructured the bank’s operating system to increase labour productivity, embraced the use of technology in management, customer care and business activities through the launch of the Loan Origination System and application of digital working environment (Microsoft Teams), online reservation (Smart Queue), and chatbots powered by artificial intelligence in the customer care process.
She also worked proactively to safeguard the health of employees and customers, and had a plan in place to ensure the bank operated seamlessly and maintained its business efficiency during the pandemic.
