As the 2020 – 21 school year begins Sacombank awarded 3,555 "Sacombank - Nurturing dreams" scholarships worth over VND3.5 billion (US$150,788) to secondary and high school students around the country who live in difficult circumstances but have good academic records.

Each scholarship is worth VND1 million ($43) and a backpack.

The beneficiaries are secondary and high school students except in Ha Noi and some central districts of HCM City with an average score of seven or more last year, fairly good training points and active participation in extra-curricular activities.

The programme has given more than 38,100 scholarships worth nearly VND48.5 billion since 2004.

In addition to the scholarships, Sacombank also annually offers students training, orientation and internships. In 2020 it will organise a series of Orientation-Changing Life programmes at universities to help students develop a positive attitude, enabling them to plan for their future.

Sacombank will continue with the Potential Intern programme this year to give economics students the opportunity to experience working in a bank.

It will give talented trainees the opportunity to access real-time work throughout the internship period and be recruited directly as full-time employees after graduation instead of going through tests and interviews. — VNS
