Prudential Vietnam is providing extra insurance protection for customers affected by the novel coronavirus with coverage of up to VND20 million (US$861.4) per case.
The novel coronavirus has spread rapidly within China while cases have been reported in many other countries, including Viet Nam.
With a commitment to support customers against unexpected risks of life, Prudential Vietnam has launched the Special Healthcare Programme for customers infected with the virus in Viet Nam from the period of February 6 to April 30.
The programme offers an additional cash benefit for customers based on the duration of isolated treatment in the hospital. If the duration of the treatment is from three to nine days, Prudential Vietnam will offer financial support equivalent to VND10 million. If the duration of the treatment is over 10 days, it will provide financial support equivalent to VND20 million.
The programme applies to "individual customers who are policyholders, and to the life insured for both basic products and attached riders issued by Prudential Vietnam", according to the company's press release.
Customers infected by the virus will still be entitled to the existing benefits of their policies, including total and permanent disability benefit, critical illness benefit, hospital care benefit and death benefit, in accordance with the policy terms and conditions.
Clive Baker, CEO of Prudential Vietnam, said: “We believe this timely and comprehensive initiative will bring our customers peace of mind when facing health challenges in the face of the novel coronavirus outbreak. This is also aligned with Prudential Vietnam’s efforts to support Vietnamese in their fight against disease as well as their desire to lead a healthier life." — VNS
