The first international-standard English and Informatics class officially started at Long Khanh A3 Primary School in Hong Ngu District of the Mekong Delta province of Dong Thap.

The class is part of a project called “Teaching English and Informatics free for primary school students”, which is jointly organised by NovaGroup and DEG Impluse, a subsidiary of DEG, the German Development Finance Institution.

Earlier, the same class was started at primary schools Tien Thanh 1 and Tien Thanh 2 in the city of Phan Thiet of Binh Thuan Province.

The project, which costs nearly 400,000 euros (US$393,000), aims to support local schools to upgrade their facilities as well as enhance the quality of teaching so that 1,000 local students are able to take the Young Learners (YLE) and the Internet and Computing Core Certification Spark (IC3 Spark) programmes.

Nova Education, a member of NovaGroup, is in charge of operating the project.

Long Khanh A3 Primary School is built by NovaGroup following the national standard with many facilities including functional classrooms for English and informatics.

Right after the project started, the school has been equipped with many tools so that teachers and students can study English and informatics with best condition.

In addition, more teachers have been sent to schools to provide international-standard classes.

On the occasion of starting the new class, NovaGroup handed over 1,000 gift bags of NovaConsumer products to local students.

The ‘“Teaching English and Informatics for free for primary school students” project is evidence of NovaGroup’s commitment to support national education. It is also one of its four focuses to improve the quality of education, create a sustainable education environment, and encourage younger generations to study.

The collaboration between NovaGroup and DEG Impulse confirms their commitment to social responsibility, and will help improve the quality of life in Viet Nam.

Furthermore, the joint implementation of a social project will strengthen the partnership between NovaGroup and DEG Impulse and promote other activities through long-term cooperation.

For many years, NovaGroup has presented thousands of scholarships to students in the entire country. In Dong Thap alone, NovaGroup has carried out many programmes supporting the local education sector such as building schools and presenting scholarships to students.
