HCM CITY (Biz Hub) — Procter & Gamble (P&G) Vietnam has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Vietnam Red Cross Society to cooperate in humanitarian programs in Viet Nam.

The two groups will focus on P&G Children's Safe Drinking Water Program to provide clean water to thousands of children and families in localities.

"We will be able to assist more people in difficulties, reduce preventable deaths and diseases, and bring health, education and economic opportunities to children," said Emre Olcer, General Manager of P&G Vietnam.

In Viet Nam, despite better access to improved drinking water sources, large parts of the population, especially those in flood-prone areas, remain vulnerable to diseases, such as diarrhea, caused by unsafe water.

The Children's Safe Drinking Water project is P&G's global signature corporate program, initiated in 2004. Each P&G purified water sachet can turn 10 litres of dirty water into clean drinkable water in 30 minutes. — VNS
