Panasonic Vietnam has taken a look back at its journey of the “Live Green and Wellness with Gen G” campaign and organised a Gen G Ambassador Initiative Fund Award ceremony within the framework of its “Green Day with Gen G.”

The event, held in Ha Noi on February 25, featured young people with outstanding environmental initiatives and finalists of the Gen G Ambassador programme.

Launched in December 2022, the campaign was part of the firm’s activities towards realizing the “Panasonic GREEN IMPACT” – its commitment to net zero by 2030 in Panasonic’s member companies worldwide and reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 300 million tons throughout its value chain by 2050.

The campaign comprised a series of online and in-person programs, drawing the attention of young people across the country and inspiring them to become a part of “Gen G” – a new concept of the Pioneer Generation in a green lifestyle.

Oka Hiroyuki, Director of Panasonic Vietnam, said: "With this program, we hope to inspire and invite young Vietnamese people in pioneering a green, healthy and environmentally friendly lifestyle. I am very impressed with the youth’s participation in our various activities in this campaign, both online and offline, to get updates, sharpen their knowledge and build their capacity in the topic of environment and global warming.”

The “Green Day with Gen G” event became a weekend festival for young people, especially for lovers of green and wellness lifestyles. As a pioneer in bringing solutions to global problems, Panasonic has introduced several environmental protection and sustainable development activities around the world and in Viet Nam with a focus on solutions to save energy, save water and reduce emissions, and comprehensive air solutions in green exhibition areas.

Apart from this campaign, Panasonic has been carrying out numerous environmental initiatives in Viet Nam, including the “Live Wellness, Contribute Green with Panasonic” program, the largest reforestation program with the participation of its partners and customers across the country. The program was launched in November 2022 in response to the Government’s call to tackle climate change and to continue the “For a Green and Wellness Viet Nam” journey.

The initiative aims to contribute to Viet Nam’s efforts in planting one billion trees nationwide to reach the country’s target of net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050. — VNS
