This acrylic painting Ban Mai (sun rise) by Dinh Ngoc Thang was sold for US$50,000 at an auction held in HCM CIty last Saturday by Ben Thanh Art & Frame gallery in co-ordination Galerie Nguyen, SOULD Music and Performing Arts Academy and Heart Beats Vietnam (a charity programme of VinaCapital Foundation). This Art for Heart charity auction sold 8 works by painters of the Ben Thanh Art & Gallery to raise $230,500 to fund life-saving heart operations to financially disadvantaged children in Viet Nam. To date 4,300 such kids have benefitted from the program.
