New school for disadvantaged students opens in Long An Province

LONG AN (Biz Hub) — The Thạnh An Secondary School for disadvantaged students opened late last week in Thạnh Ho District in the Mekong Delta province of Long An.

Covering an area of 1,000sq.m, the school has four classrooms with a full set of equipment for 160 students.

The school is built under the sponsorship of Belgium's "Live & Give" organisation.

It is the 19th school built under the "Đèn Đom Đim" programme established by the Netherlands dairy company, FrieslandCampina Vietnam, since 2002. The programme, which aims to offer opportunities to disadvantaged students, has received support from many organisations and individuals.

"Live & Give" has supported the programme for years. It has sponsored to build four schools in Lâm Đồng, Thừa Thiên – Huế, Hà Nam and Long An provinces. — VNS
