Low-cost carrier Jetstar Pacific will launch three direct flights a week between the central city of Da Nang and Kaohsiung, Taiwan from August 10.
Representatives of the airline said it’s the second direct air route between the city and Taiwan after the first Da Nang-Taipei was opened with five flights per week in 2016.
The airline said it would operate the route using a 180-seat Airbus A320 aircraft for the newest flight to meet the increasing demand of tourists among destinations in central Viet Nam and Taiwan.
The city’s tourism department said Da Nang welcomed 36,000 tourists from Taiwan in 2018 – a 30 per cent growth in comparison to 2017. And more than 14,000 Taiwanese visitors took part in tours in the central city in the first quarter of 2019.
The airline, which is the first in the region offering cheap tickets on this route, has yet to unveil prices, but said it would offer the best price for Vietnamese and Taiwanese tourists to boost tourism and business trips between Da Nang and Taiwan. — VNS
