Netflix wants to produce content in Viet Nam, said CEO of Netflix Reed Hastings in a meeting with Minister, Chairman of the Office of the Government Mai Tien Dung in Busan, South Korea on Monday.

The Office of the Government reported that its chairman emphasised the need to build institutions and policies to attract foreign investment into Viet Nam.

He welcomed the co-operation of foreign partners in film production with the country, and hoped Netflix would build an official presence in Viet Nam.

Netflix was present in Singapore three years ago, then Tokyo (Japan), Mumbai (India), Seoul (South Korea) and the future would be in Viet Nam, said the Netflix CEO.

Viet Nam had a high rate of internet users, many of whom use online entertainment services, he added. Therefore, he also believed that Netflix would grow in the country.
