Nestle Vietnam and its MAGGI Professional brand have signed an MoU with the Saigon Professional Chefs Guild to cooperate in programmes that focus on supporting generations of chefs to develop their culinary skills and promote Vietnamese cuisine.

Under the partnership for the period of 2023 - 2024, Nestle Vietnam and MAGGI Professional are committed to carrying out three key activities to support chefs across the country, including enhancing, sharing and imparting experience in the industry; organising culinary competitions, exchange platforms and programmes to promote and honour the cooking industry; and orienting and creating opportunities for chefs to develop their careers at home and abroad.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Pham Son Vuong, chairman of the Saigon Professional Chefs Guild, said, “over time, being a chef has attracted many young people's attention due to future career development opportunities. Therefore, we are very proud to be accompanying Nestle Vietnam and the MAGGI Professional brand to carry out many meaningful activities to honour the cooking industry.”

Le Bui Thi Mai Uyen, head of the Food Division at Nestle Vietnam, said, “as a brand pursuing the mission of accompanying and fostering generations of talented chefs, MAGGI Professional is committed to join hands with the Saigon Professional Chefs Guild in cooperation programmes for the period of 2023 - 2024 to support Viet Nam's cooking industry and encourage chefs (semi-professional and professional chefs) to continue to assert themselves and pursue their passions.”

The signing took place within the framework of the ‘Chefs Day’ event held in HCM City on October 20, with the participation of representatives of the HCM City Tourism Association and the city Department of Tourism and more than 300 professional chefs and prestigious culinary experts.

The event offered an opportunity for chefs to exchange information and listen to useful culinary knowledge from Chef Samson Lin and demonstrate dishes.

In addition, individuals and collectives who have made outstanding contributions to the Saigon Professional Chefs Guild’s activities and the Vietnamese culinary industry were also honoured at the event. — VNS
