Nestlé Việt Nam has donated over 250,000 nutritional products and bottled water worth over VNĐ1.8 billion (US$73,475) to support people in northern provinces reeling under the effects of Typhoon Yagi.
The donations were handed over to the National Fund for Vietnamese Children and the Việt Nam Women’s Union.
At the handover event Đinh Tiến Hải, director of the National Fund for Vietnamese Children, thanked Nestlé Vietnam’s staff for the donations of essential supplies to children and families affected by Yagi typhoon.
Nestlé said it is committed to aligning its social responsibility with business activities, and undertakes emergency community support activities during disasters to help alleviate hardship.
For its contributions to worker and community welfare, it has been honoured five times since 2019 with the "Typical Enterprise for Employees” award by the Việt Nam General Confederation of Labour.
It has been recognised as the Most Sustainable Business in Việt Nam in the manufacturing sector three times for its achievements in environmental, social, and governance practices.
According to the Ministry of Planning and Investment, the typhoon has left a trail of destruction in localities from Thanh Hóa northwards, and estimated the loss of property so far at VNĐ40 trillion (US$1.6 billion). — VNS
