Following the initial screenings, the Hanoi and HCM City Red Cross will select the 200 most disadvantaged women identified to be at high risk for breast cancer, thyroid cancer, cervical cancer and ovarian cancer to receive financial support for advanced screenings.
More than 2,000 vulnerable women will be provided free cancer screening in Hà Nội and HCM City.
Out of the 2,010 screening packages, 1,000 will be allocated to the Hanoi Red Cross, 600 to the HCM City Red Cross, and 400 to the HCM City Export Processing and Industrial Zones Authority. Cancer screenings are scheduled to take place from October 19 to October 26 at four hospitals: HCM City Oncology Hospital, Gia Định People’s Hospital, Hanoi Oncology Hospital and the 108 Military Central Hospital.

The activities were under the framework of the “Tap to Share, Give Hope” social welfare programme, co-organised by the National Payment Corporation of Vietnam (NAPAS), global payment technology company Mastercard and payment intermediary Payoo.
During the three-month implementation, the programme initiated numerous meaningful fundraising activities through every NAPAS and Mastercard card tap transaction.
As a result, millions of card tap transactions were recorded at stores, along with tens of thousands of hashtag #chamsechia shares on social media. With the programme donating VNĐ2,010 for every card tap transaction and VNĐ20,100 for each social media share, NAPAS and Mastercard contributed a total of VNĐ3.5 billion to the cancer screening project for women.
Alongside the screening activities, the programme also organised “Zero-Cost Booths” at hospitals, offering essential products such as rice, cooking oil, fish sauce, salt, shampoo, and body wash. Women participating in the screenings will be given a VNĐ220,000 shopping voucher to choose practical items at the “Zero-Cost Booth,” helping ease their financial burdens.
The “Tap To Share, Give Hope” initiative marks the second year of Mastercard, NAPAS and Payoo’s joint commitment to supporting women from vulnerable communities. In 2023, the initiative successfully raised funds to donate new wigs for cancer patients undergoing treatment at HCM City Oncology Hospital. — VNS
