HCM CITY (Biz Hub) – More and more Vietnamese businesses are becoming interested in the "100 A Head" programme run by the Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB).
Under the programme, each organiser that brings a group of at least 15 visitors to attend trade shows in Thailand will receive US$100 for each delegate from TCEB. In each exhibition, TCEB will provide support for 100 delegates per country.
Initiated in Viet Nam in 2009, the programme is intended to encourage group visitors from Viet Nam to create business relationships and to create a network between trade associations in the two countries.
In the first year of the programme, nine Vietnamese groups received support. In 2010, that number increased to 15 groups; in 2011, to 17; and to 20 groups last year.
In the first eight months of this year, 25 Vietnamese business groups have benefited from the programme.
According to the Minh Vi Exhibition and Advertisement Services Co. Ltd, the representative of TCEB in Viet Nam, an increasing number of Vietnamese enterprises are visiting Thailand to attend trade shows and seek business partners.
Many trade promotion centres in provinces and cities, as well as associations, in Viet Nam have organised more business groups to visit Thai trade shows.
However, due to a lack of information about the programme, many businesses went separately and did not join a group. Thus, they could not qualify for benefits from the programme.
To further promote the programme, TCEB recently orgainsed activities to provide more information to local trade associations, agencies and businesses.
