Confectionery producer Mondelez Kinh Đô Vietnam has announced it will provide 27,000 boxes of confectionery to underprivileged communities through the Vietnam Food Bank network.

Over the course of eight years in Việt Nam, the company said, it had not only expanded its production and business activities but also demonstrated a steadfast commitment to sustainable development.

With a focus on contributing to society and adhering to sustainable development principles, the company had actively engaged in social responsibility initiatives, supported community-oriented projects, and fostered positive values within the community.

Since the beginning of 2023, the company had collaborated with Foodbank Vietnam to provide over 27,000 boxes of assorted confectionery worth VNĐ14 billion (US$575 million), while offering periodic support to more than 600 shelters, open houses, nursing centres, and for highland children and those facing challenging circumstances.

This outreach extended to supporting underprivileged patients in hospitals and contributing to various local community programs, projects, and activities. It was estimated that over 132,000 individuals had benefited from these initiatives.

In collaboration with social organizations to spread the spirit of mutual support and solidarity widely, Mondelez Kinh Do staff took part in various meaningful volunteering activities such as Blood Donation, “Bếp yêu thương - Love Kitchen” which prepares meals for people in difficult situations, and “Cháo mùa thu - Autumn's Congee” in Hà Nội, organised by Foodbank Vietnam.

Recently, over 50 volunteers from Mondelez Kinh Do joined forces to prepare more than 150 nutritious meals and distribute gifts to elderly residents at the Vinh Sơn nursing home in HCM City.

Additionally, they collectively cooked over 1,000 porridge meals and distributed them to patients and their families facing difficult circumstances at Thanh Nhàn Hospital and Lung Hospital in Hà Nội.

Recognising the impact of Mondelez Kinh Do's contributions, the company was honoured at the "Food Hero Awards 2023 - Honouring initiatives and efforts for real development in sustainable food." — VNS
