Mondelez Kinh Do ties up with Food Bank Vietnam

Mondelez Kinh Do has recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Food Bank Vietnam to mutually organise and implement activities in line with the latter’s two major missions: no hunger and reduction of food waste in Viet Nam.

The programme will be implemented in cities and provinces including HCM City, Ha Noi, Dong Nai, Ben Treand continue to expand nationwide.

The targeted recipients of the project include frontline COVID-19 workers, the disadvantaged, underprivileged due to the pandemic, poor workers, nursing homes, orphanages and others. Each group of recipients will be provided with Mondelez products and nutritious meals that are suitable for their living conditions.

In addition to giving free food to people in need, Mondelez Kinh Do will join hands with Food Bank Vietnam in the fight against food waste with impactful programs that encourage people to join the fight.

According to Food Bank Vietnam’s report, it is estimated that more than one million people go hungry each year and millions are currently facing food insecurity. Aiming to join hands to help vulnerable people overcome tough times caused by the pandemic, Mondelez Kinh Do, in cooperation with Food Bank Vietnam, has given the company’s products to people in need.

In another development, Mondelēz International, Inc recently announced it is committing to a 2050 target of net zero greenhouse-gas emissions across its full value chain.

As part of its commitment, Mondelēz International has signed the Science Based Targets Initiative’s Business Ambition for 1.5 degrees, aligning its long-term emissions mitigation targets with the ambitious aim of limiting temperature rise in accordance with the Paris Agreement.

Mondelēz International has also joined the United Nations Race to Zero Campaign to help build momentum towards a decarbonized economy. These commitments mark a bold step forward in Mondelēz International’s differentiated approach to sustainability that is helping drive lasting progress at scale and create long-term value for the business and its stakeholders. — VNS
