Over 3,000 students from two primary schools in Binh Duong Province participated in the annual ‘Joy Schools’ programme organised by confectionery company Mondelez Kinh Do.
Under the theme ‘Go Green’ this year the company created a fun-learning event with activities like green educational games.
With each activity, which involved interactive games and practical action, the children got an understanding of the importance of reducing and separating wastes and how to recycle them.
They watched documentary videos to improve their awareness of the increasing plastic waste in Viet Nam.
Volunteers taught them crafts and planting trees in recycled plastic bottles.
The ‘Joy Schools’ programme, which aims to educate students about sustainable growth through educational programmes, has been held since 2017 in collaboration with the province Departments of Education and Training and Science and Technology.
The event will move to two other primary schools in Hung Yen Province by the end of December.
