LOTTE Mart on Tuesday donated VND200 million (US$8,810) to Operation Smile for performing reconstructive surgery on 40 children.

The surgeries, to repair congenital cleft lips and palates and other facial deformities, are expected to be done at HCM City’s Medical University Hospital in March.

This is the third time that LOTTE Mart is sponsoring Operation Smile.

Kang Min Ho, general director of Lotte Mart Vietnam, said joining hands with Operation Smile was an “honour” for LOTTE Mart.

The donation comes from LOTTE Mart’s charity fund, Choice L Foundation Fund.

In March last year and this year, the supermarket had funded free surgeries for more than 40 children with cleft lips and palates.
