LOTTE Finance has sent thousands of essential goods to support Vietnamese residents in the two central provinces of Quang Binh and Quang Tri following severe flooding in the region.
The donation includes 10 tonnes of rice and one thousand boxes of water & cooking oil, along with 11 thousand student notebooks, to help thousands of vulnerable people in these two provinces overcome their difficulties after the floods.
The donation was quickly planned under close consultation with the Vietnamese Fatherland Front to provide the most useful items to residents in the two provinces.
“This is one of the worst floods we have seen in 20 years, and has caused serious damage to central Viet Nam. We deeply sympathise with the heavy losses suffered by the residents and authorities in the region,” said Kim Jong Geuk, CEO of LOTTE Finance.
The donations were funded LOTTE Finance and its staff, who contributed nearly VND80 million to the cause.
In just a month, Central Vietnam was hit by four storms and a series of landslides that claimed 159 lives and left 71 people missing.
In April, the company also joined hands in the fight against COVID-19 by presenting hundreds of essential items such as mouthwash, dry hand wash and toothpaste, and thousands of protective outfits to hot spots during the pandemic. — VNS
