DTK Corporation on Saturday inaugurated the first phase of its clean egg factory in the northern province of Phu Tho.

Covering 42ha in Te Le Commune, Tam Nong District, the large-scale factory has total investment capital of VNĐ800 billion (US$35.3 million).

The project comprises two phases, producing 175 million eggs annually, equalling nearly 500,000 eggs per day, once it is fully operational in 2018. In the first phase, the factory will produce 300,000 eggs per day.

The factory is the first-ever facility in the country capable of controlling biosecurity during the entire process of clean egg production by using advanced technologies from Japan, the US and Israel, a DTK representative said.

She added that the factory’s eggs will be sold in the market next month at competitive prices, aimed at serving customers from all segments.

During his speech at the event, Nguyen Thanh Hai, vice chairman of the provincial People’s Committee, spoke highly on the opening of the factory, saying it marked a milestone in the development of the province’s hi-tech farming sector.

The vice chairman also called on DTK Corp to complete the factory’s second phase as scheduled, while pledging local authorities would create the most favourable conditions for the investor to implement the project.

The ceremony also saw contracts signed between DTK Corp and seven local partners that are responsible for distributing the factory’s eggs and fertilizer products in the market.
