South Korean budget carrier Air Busan will launch a new route between Busan and HCM City from April 23.

The airline will operate one flight per day on the route, aiming to connect the country’s two economic and tourism hubs.

The flight depart from Gimhae International Airport in Busan at 9am and arrive at Tan Son Nhat International Airport at 12am. The return flight will leave Tan Son Nhat Airport at 1pm and land at Busan at 9.05pm (all local times).

Air Busan will use Airbus’s next-generation A321 Neo LR manufactured in Hamburg, Germany, which will be delivered in mid-March.

To celebrate the new route, the airline is giving away discounted tickets for US$99/one way until Tuesday. The boarding period is from April 23 to October 24.

Viet Nam remained one of the most popular destinations for South Koreans with famous tourist spots such as Ha Long Bay, Ha Noi, Da Nang and Hoi An, experts said.

A 15-day visa waiver for South Korean tourists to Viet Nam and an increase in the frequency of direct flights connecting major cities in both countries have also contributed to making Viet Nam a leading choice for South Korean tourists.

Nearly 470,000 South Korean holidaymakers travelled to the Southeast Asian country in the first month of this year, up 12 per cent year-on-year, according to the Viet Nam National Administration of Tourism. — VNS
