Japanese suncare brand ANESSA has brought to Việt Nam its global initiative, the ANESSA Sunshine Project, that seeks to enable children to play safely outdoors under the sun.
According to an online survey by the brand, 50 per cent of children in Việt Nam are not getting enough time for outdoor activities mainly due to societal pressure to focus on academics.
But 75 per cent of parents recognise that outdoor play strengthens the autonomic nervous system, which is crucial for their children's overall development system.
The project seeks to address this imbalance and lay a foundation for lifelong well-being through healthy outdoor experiences, focusing on three core pillars: experience, education, and support.
The initiative had a successful launch in Japan earlier this year, and ANESSA aims to expand it to 12 countries across Asia, impacting over 300,000 children by 2030.
ANESSA and the Japan Football Association partnered with the HCM City Football Federation to host a fun event for children led by 20 professional coaches trained by the JFA.
The brand conducted a UV lecture for the coaches to help create a safe environment for children to play outside by educating them about the importance of UV protection.
An outdoor exercise event for children and the ANESSA Sunshine Workshop for them and their parents were organised at the Thống Nhất Stadium in HCM City’s District 10 on November 3.
Through engaging activities such as the ANESSA dance demonstration, children learned proper sunscreen application techniques, while a UV camera experience showed them the protective effects of sunscreen in real-time.
Each participant also received ANESSA’s new and popular product, the ANESSA Mild Milk, and UV t-shirts that change colour when exposed to ultraviolet light.
Nguyễn Thị Thảo Tâm, group brand manager for the cosmetics & fragrance division at Shiseido Cosmetics Vietnam, which owns ANESSA, said: “We are proud to extend the ANESSA Sunshine Project to Việt Nam. This not only strengthens our commitment to promoting outdoor play and UV protection but also amplifies our efforts in deepening community engagement.
