Japanese processed food manufacturer Nisshin Seifun Welna, a member of the Nisshin Seifun Group, has made a full-scale entry into the Vietnamese household goods market with the launch of a range of products based on the preferences of Vietnamese consumers.

In Japan, the company sells processed foods such as wheat flour premix, including karaage deep-fry mix, Tempura mix, and okonomiyaki flour, as well as dry pasta, pasta sauces, and frozen foods, holding a high market share in many categories.

Nisshin Seifun Welna has two facilities in Việt Nam. They are Vietnam Nisshin Seifun, a pasta sauce production facility established in 2013 that primarily exports pasta sauce products to Japan, and Vietnam Nisshin Technomic, a production facility of premix established in 2018, with its products sold in Việt Nam and exported to Japan.

This time, the company has decided to make a full-scale entry into the Vietnamese household goods market as it anticipates a need for processed foods that support convenient cooking as there are many dual-income households and people cook at home frequently, according to Takahiko Iwahashi, the company’s director and president.

The company has developed products based on the preferences of customers in Việt Nam, making full use of the two production facilities in Việt Nam and the technology and flavouring knowledge it has cultivated in Japan.

The brand has initially launched three types of pasta sauces in ready-to-eat pouches, two types of rice cooking sauces, and six types of premixes, and plans to further enhance household products in Việt Nam, including dry pasta and frozen foods, which are produced at production facilities in Việt Nam and also at the group’s facilities in Japan, Thailand, Turkey, and other countries. — VNS
