HCM CITY (VNS) — IMC Group announced on Monday that it has signed an agreement to operate MTV Viet Nam, a global music channel in the country.

MTV came to Viet Nam in 1997 but broadcast its first show only in 2011, and has since rolled out popular programmes like MTV8, MTV Now, #mtv.

IMC said MTV would now have attractive new programmes based on feedback from viewers about what they like.

They would also will offer many Vietnamese singers the chance to show their talents in the international music market and join foreign MTV competitions.

Also on the same day IMC Group signed an agreement with Kido, a trademark of Kinh Do Group – the biggest domestic confectionery producer -- to produce music shows for Vietnamese youth under the tagline "Bring Happiness to life."

To start with they will organise four programmes in 2015 -- VJ Camp, MTV Wow, MTV Unplugged, and MTV Introducing. VNS
