HCM CITY (Biz Hub) — The 30-4 Hospital under the Ministry of Public Security today opened a hi-tech eye centre to meet the demand for check-ups and medical treatment for police personnel.

The new centre will also help reduce the overload at local eye hospitals and clinics in HCM City as well as neighbouring provinces.

Nearly 15,000 patients each year are expected to be treated at the hospital, which mostly serves police officers.

With technical assistance from the HCM City Eye Hospital, the centre will be the second in the southern provinces to own a VISUMAX Femtosecond Laser, which cost US$1 million.

The laser is made by Carl Zeiss Meditec, a German medical-technology supply company. The equipment provides smooth and precise flap-cutting capabilities for refractive laser surgery. --VNS
