HCM CITY (Biz Hub) — Steel maker Hoa Sen Group on Sunday won 2015 Gold Star Award for its contribution to the country.

Instituted in 2003, the award seeks to honour businesses that demonstrate sustainable growth and social responsibility and increase businesses' awareness of international integration.

It also seeks to encourage Vietnamese businesses to develop trademarks and improve competitiveness amid the global integration.

In the last 10 years more than 1,730 outstanding brands have been honoured. This year, the award was sent to 200 outstanding brands. Hoa Sen was one among top 10.

Hoa Sen has, in 14 years since its establishment, has established its trademark both at home and abroad.

Its has a domestic market share of 40 per cent in steel sheets and 20 per cent in steel pipes.

It has exported its products to 55 countries and territories. — VNS
