Hanwha Life Vietnam donates 4,636 health insurance cards to the poor

Hanwha Life Vietnam, a Korean life insurer, donated 4,636 health insurance cards worth VND1.4 billion (US$60,100) to poor people in the country on Tuesday with an aim of improving health care condition for them.

The project is co-worked between Hanwha Life Vietnam and the HCM City Sponsoring Association for Poor Patients (SAPP) to distribute the health insurance cards to the poor living in four provinces of Kon Tum, Lam Dong, Ca Mau and Binh Phuoc.

“As an insurer, we highly appreciate the importance of health care for the community, especially those still living in needy conditions”, said Back Jong Kook, Chairman of Member Council cum CEO of Hanwha Life Vietnam.

“In co-operation with SAPP, we are committed to contributing to the improvement of the quality of life for poor Vietnamese. With continuous efforts by Hanwha Life Vietnam, we hope that the lives of the Vietnamese poor will gradually become better thanks to the improvement of health care services in the four provinces as well as other areas.

The company donated a total of 45,677 health insurance cards and 360 gifts, and built 30 houses worth VND107 billion for poor people in 14 cities and provinces in the country between 20014 and 2018.

Since 2009, Hanwha Life Vietnam has financially supported many projects that aim to benefit the local community, enabling thousands of poor to realise their dreams for over the last decade.

With total funds of VND30 billion, the company donated a total of 50,313 health insurance cards and built 160 houses for poor households. In addition, it built four health care centres and gave many scholarships and bicycles for poor students across the country.

Due to its significant contribution to the local community, Hanwha Life Vietnam was granted the Certificate of Merit by the People’s Committee of HCM City last September. They also earned the title Top Ten Enterprises with sustainable growth in Viet Nam by the Viet Nam Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Award of Social Responsibility from the South Korean Consulate General, Viet Nam’s Ministry of Planning and Investment and the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, and Energy of South Korea.
