HanesBrands Vietnam, a subsidiary of the US-based Hanesbrands Inc, celebrated its first decade of remarkable achievements in Viet Nam’s market at a ceremony on December 7.
“We have made a successful story in terms of business achievements, social contribution and employees’ quality of life. We will keep our successful story going on to deepen our worldwide footprint as well as our contribution to Viet Nam’s economy,” said Chief Global Manufacturing Operations Officer, HanesBrands Inc Javier Chacon.
Founded in Viet Nam in 2007, HanesBrands Vietnam is among the largest textile and garment enterprises in Viet Nam with a total workforce of approximately 12,000 labourers. It exports apparel products to critical markets of America, Canada, Australia, Japan and China.
The company built a strong supply chain with three large-scaled modern plants in Khoai Chau, Kim Dong districts of Hung Yen Province and Phu Bai District of Thua Thien Hue Province. The company’s annual capacity has reached 34.5 million dozens units, accounting for 20 per cent of the group’s total production.
Since the company’s first presence in the country, HanesBrands Vietnam has become the biggest producer of American innerwear in Asia. Particularly, the Khoai Chau plant has produced more than one billion products to date. HanesBrands Vietnam’s total investment in Hung Yen Province has reached more than VND1.8 trillion. — VNS
