Grab, the leading app in Southeast Asia, on Thursday announced that its food service, GrabFood, has expanded to 15 cities and provinces nationwide after one year of operation in Viet Nam.

Jerry Lim, country head of Grab Vietnam, announced at the company's first anniversary ceremony that daily completed orders grew 250 times from June 2018 to May 2019.

“We have moved beyond just a ride-hailing app in today’s Vietnamese consumers’ minds, and are truly serving their daily essential needs as an everyday super app," he said. "More than 80 per cent of surveyed consumers in Viet Nam choose GrabFood as their top-of-mind brand, which shows a strong vote of confidence. We are happy to have made a difference, making on-demand food delivery an integral and indispensable part of Vietnamese people’s lives, just like e-hailing."

“Today’s achievement will only push us to continue to serve our consumers even better. We promise to offer everyone the best value for every Vietnamese dong they spend on GrabFood - be it delivering their food orders at the fastest possible speed, offering the widest variety of food selections to satisfy as many cravings as possible, or setting the bar for food safety standards to ensure the highest food quality,” Lim said.

Since joining GrabFood, merchant-partners earn as much as 300 per cent more in incremental revenue within two to three months on the GrabFood platform, thanks to Grab’s large consumer base. — VNS
