Golf tournament donates VNĐ1.5 billion to support pediatric cancer patients

The 20th Suntory PepsiCo Vietnam Friendship Golf Tournament has successfully taken place at the Taekwang Jeongsan Golf Course in Đồng Nai Province, bringing together 130 domestic and international golfers.

In this year's tournament, SPVB, longstanding partners and trusted friends have joined hands to donate more than VNĐ1.5 billion through the HCM City Sponsoring Association for Poor Patients to support pediatric cancer patients.

Suntory PepsiCo has implemented many sustainable development programmes in Việt Nam such as "Mizuiku - I love clean water" which educates the young generation on saving and protecting water resources and the "Million Trees - For a green Vietnam" which grows trees in watershed forests.

The "Million Meals" in collaboration with PepsiCo to give meals to people with difficulty, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic, or the volunteer programme "Helping Hands'' that are fundraised and carried out by employees to support the community.

Over the past two decades, the golf tournament has donated more than VNĐ20 billion to the HCM City Sponsoring Association for Poor Patients to help build medical projects and schools and provide access to clean water for more than 30,000 people.

The tournament also supported treatment expenses for 380 heart surgeries and more than 400 pediatric cancer patients nationwide. — VNS
