DA NANG (Biz Hub) — Japanese firm Fujitsu Viet Nam has opened a branch office at Da Nang Software Park, after Ha Noi, HCM City and Hai Phong.
The company, which entered Viet Nam's market in 1999, aims to expand its information technology (IT) services in the central region.
According to general director Taro Matsuura, Da Nang is seen as a favourite location of investors due to the IT applications business there.
The IT businesses in the central city earned a massive VND5 trillion (US$238 million) in revenue and an export turnover of $25 million last year.
The IT sector employs 5,000 staff across 600 businesses.
The city plans to digitise 1,200 public services for the city's 56 communes, precincts and departments.
In April, the US' Rocky Lai & Associates Inc began construction of the 341-hectare Da Nang IT Park with a total investment of $278 million.
Da Nang is one of the biggest cities developing centralised information centres after Ha Noi and HCM City.
Japanese businesses have invested US$356 million in the city with 68 projects in total. — VNS
