Việt Nam’s FPT technology giant reported its 9-month revenue and pre-tax profit of VNĐ37.9 trillion (US$1.6 billion) and VNĐ6.7 trillion respectively, an increase of 22.4 per cent and 19.5 per cent over the same period last year.

Profit after tax stood at VNĐ4.74 trillion in the first nine months of 2023, with earnings per share (EPS) rising more than 20.3 per cent to VNĐ3.744.

The technology segment played a key role in the corporation, generating a revenue of VNĐ22.5 trillion and a pre-tax profit of VNĐ3.12 trillion, both rising by about 59 per cent and 46 per cent respectively over the same period last year.

The information technology service segment in foreign markets reported a revenue of VNĐ17.6 trillion, an increase of 30.9 per cent. Notably, revenue grew in all markets, especially in Japan (up by 44.1 per cent year on year) despite Japan yen depreciation, due to the rising demand for digital transformation in this market.

Most recently, on July 19, the company signed a partnership agreement under which FPT will oversee all software development for various equipment from Nippon Seiki – a global tier-1 supplier of meters and head-up displays (HUD) with a 70-year history of operation.

The domestic information technology services segment faced challenges as demand from enterprises did not pick up, with revenue increasing by 10.2 per cent to VNĐ4.89 trillion and a pre-tax profit rising by 34.1 per cent to VNĐ250 billion. FPT continues to foster cooperation with the Government, foreign businesses, and other resilient economic sectors to ensure growth.

The telecommunications services segment grew by more than 10 per cent, reaching VNĐ11.2 trillion. Profit before tax increased by 15 per cent to VNĐ2.21 trillion.

Education in the IT industry has contributed to a 43 per cent rise in FPT's education revenue compared to the same period last year, totalling VNĐ4.43 trillion. — VNS
