FPT group, a Việt Nam technology giant, and Faeger recently signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to jointly research and develop consulting services and digital transformation solutions for businesses in the field of agriculture in Việt Nam.

The cooperation between FPT and Faeger aims to provide digital transformation and green transformation support services for Vietnamese businesses in the agriculture sector. FPT is a leading enterprise in digital transformation in Việt Nam and the region, while Faeger is a pioneering company in decarbonising-oriented agricultural development in Japan.

The MoU aims to focus on research and development, consulting services, and digital transformation solutions for business customers in the agriculture sector in Việt Nam. The goal is to promote technology development in agriculture and forestry, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and facilitate the green transition process in Việt Nam.

FPT Group, in this cooperation, takes on the role of creating and expanding the green transformation ecosystem in the domestic agricultural and forestry sector. The group will connect organisations, businesses, and the Vietnamese farming community. It will provide comprehensive services ranging from consulting to implementing technology solutions to optimise management, reduce emissions, and improve efficiency in agricultural and forestry production.

Faeger, on the other hand, commits to contributing professional knowledge, experts, and connecting funding sources from the Joint Credit Mechanism (JCM) to support Vietnamese organisations and businesses in promoting green transformation and ensuring the financial implementation of projects. Faeger also shares planning methods for effectively using Japanese investment capital for agricultural projects.

This cooperation reflects the efforts of both parties to develop green transition initiatives between Việt Nam and Japan. It follows previous projects on low carbon growth between the governments. The ultimate aim is to promote a circular economy, resilience to climate change, low carbon emissions, and sustainable growth. — VNS
