A float glass manufacturing plant started operation last week in the northern province of Ninh Binh’s Khanh Cu Industrial Zone.

Financed by INDEVCO Joint Stock Co, the plant provides 80 million metres of glass annually to meet the increasing demand of domestic and international markets.

The plant, which can ultilise the province’s available source of limestone materials, is expected to create 1,000 local jobs.

Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Dinh Van Dien said he highly appreciated the efforts by local authorities and the investor to speed up the factory’s implementation process.

At the opening ceremony, the chairman said Ninh Binh Province had always created favorable conditions for businesses and investors in the province.

The province is now home to 6,000 enteprises and strives to raise the figure to over 10,000 by 2020. — VNS
