EMASI international bilingual school was inaugurated on Monday, the first day of the new school year, and began functioning at its two campuses in District 7 and Thu Duc District.
In its first year, the school has enrolled 1,000 students in classes from kindergarten to high school.
EMASI, an acronym for English, Mathematics, Art, Science, Information Technology, is an international bilingual school with the Vietnamese national curriculum and teaching methods adopted from developed countries.
The school belongs to Khai Sang Joint Stock Company, which has a strong background in education.
EMASI said in a release that instead of the conventional didactic approach used by most public schools, its system is student-centred, has a thematic and topical approach, and includes project-based learning and teamwork as well as autonomous learning.
The school seeks to equip students with the ability to become self-motivated learners, it said.
It used both Vietnamese and English.
Apart from the academic expectations, the school also strongly focuses on art and physical education because health is the basic foundation of life and art helps develop aesthetics, promotes creativity and enriches life, it added. — VNS
