FrieslandCampina Viet Nam’s Dutch Lady brand has collaborated with the Department of Education and Training of the flood-hit central province of Quang Tri to donate books, backpacks and dairy products to more than 1,700 students in five primary schools.
The schools are in the communes of Trieu Long, Hai Son, Vinh Lam, Ta Rut, and Huong Tan, which were devastated by floods.
Worth more than VND1.1 billion (US$47,370), the donations were done under Dutch Lady’s ‘Dinh duong yeu thuong, chung tay chia se’ (Loved Nutrients, Join to Share) programme launched in April when Viet Nam had mandated social distancing.
The programme shows the brand’s social responsibilities and is to carry out the mission of For Vietnam to Leap Forward and Reach Higher.
Under the programme, Dutch Lady also has joined hands with the Government for the latter’s COVID-19 prevention and control efforts by donating milk and other essential items to doctors and nurses on the frontline against COVID-19.
Ta Thuy Ha, director of consumer dairy at FrieslandCampina Viet Nam, said: “Over the last 25 years Dutch Lady has had programmes to help children, especially disadvantaged children, continue going to schools.” — VNS
