HCM CITY (Biz Hub) – Dutch dairy firm FrieslandCampina Viet Nam said its "two million milk box" programme targets providing milk to millions of children and mothers in 1,000 communes in 30 provinces and cities across the country.
It plans to organise 90 nutrition festival days to provide information to mothers in poor and remote areas about basic nutrition for their children.
The programme is aimed at helping improve the health of children, especially in rural areas.
Launched a few months ago, the programme has been implemented in more than 800 communes with the participation of over 130,000 mothers.
According to the Southeast Asia Nutrition Survey conducted by the National Nutrition Institution, Viet Nam Nutrition Association and FrieslandCampina, 50 per cent of Vietnamese children aged from six months to 11 years suffer from malnutrition. – VNS
