DHL Express has delivered 40 wheelchairs to children at the Da Nang Rehabilitation Hospital in central Da Nang City.

The wheelchairs, donated by Global Mobility, will help children dealing with mobility difficulties due to cerebral palsy and congenital paralysis.

DHL Express took charge of the end-to-end delivery of the wheelchairs from Guatemala to the city, overseeing pick-up, air transportation, customs clearance, necessary paperwork and on-ground delivery.

“As a large shipment of wheelchairs does not easily fit into the smaller planes that normally fly to Da Nang, we had to carefully organise the route of advancement and connections to make sure that enough space was available at every step of the way,” George E. Berczely, general director, DHL-VNPT Express Ltd, said.

“We are proud to have been able to join forces with Global Mobility to do our part for the local community and deliver these 40 wheelchairs to the Da Nang Rehabilitation Hospital. We believe that this will be pivotal in helping the children overcome their mobility difficulties, encourage self-confidence and independence, and ultimately deliver a better quality of life." — VNS
