Deal signed to improve profile of Vietnamese products

The Ho Chi Minh City Finance and Investment State-owned Company (HFIC), Sai Gon Giai Phong newspaper and Saigon Union of Trading Co-operatives (Saigon Co.op) on Tuesday signed an agreement to launch the ‘Green Business Alliance - Vietnamese Enterprises’ to improve the profile of Vietnamese products.

They also announced a programme that offers comprehensive support for Vietnamese businesses from brand advertising and funding to finding outlets for their products in the local and overseas markets.

They will review and make a list of those that are capable of raising production capacity and building brands, and join hands to solve difficulties faced by them in terms of raising funds to expand production and market share and building brands.

They will help firms develop communication strategies to raise awareness about their products and brands.

Nguyen Ngoc Hoa, chairman of HFIC, said his company would develop medium- and long-term credit financing packages for businesses and assign staff to support businesses in making procedures for their investment project.

Nguyen Anh Duc, Saigon Co.op general director, said the co-operative will review and evaluate the capacity of Vietnamese enterprises who are suppliers to the supermarket system to come up with a list of suppliers that will be provided with a comprehensive support.

It would develop programmes to stimulate demand for their products through promotions and displaying them at it supermarkets, co-ordinate with the newspaper and HFIC to regularly organise activities to help local producers enhance co-operation with domestic and foreign partners, creating a basis for them to expand production and market share, he said. — VNS
