Co.opmart and Co.opXtra supermarkets around the country are offering massive discounts on a wide range of products for Tet for 10 days starting on January 28. — VNS Photo Xuan Phuong.

HCM CITY (Biz Hub) — From January 28 to February 7 all 81 Co.opmart and two Co.opXtra supermarkets across the country will offer huge discounts on various kind of meat pies and sausages and a variety of special products for Tet (Lunar New Year) under their "10 ngay giam gia het ga" (10 days of offering maximum discounts) programme.

The products with the biggest discounts will include fresh sausage, Mai Que Lo sausage, fresh lean pork paste, beef dumpling, lean pork paste without borax, lean pork and pork skin paste, and frozen ‘flower' meat pies.

The price of sausage will be reduced to VND79,900 for 500 grammes and of lean pork paste to VND74,600 for 500 grammes.

Besides sausages and meat pies, the two supermarkets will also in rotation offer steep discounts on processed foods, sugared fresh coconut strips, cashew nuts, cakes, US raisins, cooking oils, pickled scallion heads, and seasoning.

Saigon Co.op marketing director Vo Hoang Anh said "10 ngay giam gia het ga" is aimed at helping consumers shop to the fullest extent, safely and most economically for Tet.

Compared to last year the number of discounted items and discounts are higher this year since the supermarkets prepared well for the programme since the middle of 2015, he said.

Co.opmart and Co.opXtra have also increased staffs and equipment so that customers do not have to wait for long to pay.

They are also open for two to four hours more daily, and will remain open until noon on February 7 (the last day of lunar 2015). — VNS
