Though there are nearly two months to go for Tet (Lunar New Year), Saigon Co.op’s retail chains, including Co.opmart, Co.opXtra, Co.op Food, and Co.opSmile, have started offering discounts on Tet goods to help consumers shop economically for the festival and reduce crowds during the run-up to the Lunar New Year.
The promotion programme is designed scientifically with the product portfolio discounted reasonably so that people can start shopping for Tet from now.
Products such as cosmetics, cleaning products, personal care products, beauty products, and foods that can be stored for long without spoiling have their prices discounted so that just before Tet customers only need to buy fresh foods products or place orders for ready- to- eat dishes at the supermarkets.
In the first discount phase from now to December 30, Co.opmart, Co.opXtra, Co.op Food, and Co.opSmile will offer discounts on thousands of products like detergent powders, cooking oils, dish washing liquids, pots and pans, kitchen utensils, spices, chilli, fish and soy sauces, monosodium glutamate, traditional sausages, confectionery, soft drinks, and dairy products.
There are also promotions like shock discounts, super deals, sales at original prices, and buy-more-get-more discount programmes from Thursday to Sunday each week, making many products to have their prices slashed sharply that enable shoppers to save more than 50 per cent.

The discounts are applicable to a wide range of goods, making it easy for customers to choose.
Other promotions such as giving gifts, offering higher reward points than normal, gifting vouchers, and giving customers stamps to accumulate to exchange for a premium Dutch knife set will also be regularly held.
Saigon Co.op’s supermarket chains have also begun offering discounts on more than 1.2 million Tet gift hampers packed on demand. Individual and corporate customers can place orders from now at the supermarkets’ service counters.
They can meet large orders quickly and make home delivery and offer discounts of 15 per cent, the highest in the market so far.
Reasonable prices and assured quality and product origin and no counterfeit goods or those near expiration dates are among the attractive features of the gift hampers.
