Conference discusses latest updates on healthcare innovation

More than 400 Vietnamese and international healthcare professionals have shared more than 90 research articles and discussed diverse perspectives and innovation initiatives in healthcare at Hoàn Mỹ Scientific and Technical Conference 2023.

The conference, themed "Approach to Quality and Clinical Excellence”, is an annual forum dedicated to creating a collaborative platform for professionals within and beyond the Hoàn Mỹ medical network to share knowledge, exchange of professional experience, and provide updates on the latest developments and breakthroughs in the field of healthcare.

This year's conference featured two key reports: "How to develop leadership capacity in healthcare" presented by Dr. Dilshaad Ali Bin Abas Ali, Group CEO of Hoàn Mỹ, and “Provision to develop an ASEAN Healthcare Center in HCM City" presented by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tăng Chí Thượng, Director of the HCM City Department of Health.

Meanwhile, Assoc. Prof. Katariina Korniloff, PhD from the Institute of Rehabilitation at Jamk University in Finland provided an update on the application of digitization in rehabilitation.

In addition, Hoàn Mỹ healthcare professionals presented the conference with a variety of specialized reports and scientific research with updates on progress and innovations in healthcare in various areas.

Remarkably, in the field of internal medicine, there was an update on the self-management education model for type 2 diabetes via a smartphone app, which is being successfully applied by Hoàn Mỹ Cửu Long Hospital. Meanwhile, Hoàn Mỹ Đà Nẵng Hospital updated the conference on the ABC stroke to predict the risk of strokes in patients with non-valvular atrial fibrillation, opening opportunities for disease prevention and treatment for those at risk.

Besides the clinical excellence, the conference shared many quality improvement initiatives focusing on improving patient experience.

Speaking at the conference, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tăng Chí Thượng, director of the HCM City Department of Health, said: "To quickly achieve the goal of becoming the healthcare centre of ASEAN, HCM City’s medical sector is implementing key solutions to develop specialized healthcare and improve the quality of diagnosis and treatment. In particular, an approach to quality and clinical excellence is one of the necessary elements to help the HCM City health sector meet the increasing needs of people for healthcare in terms of quantity and quality.”

He also appreciated Hoàn Mỹ's efforts in advancing training and research initiatives, as well as maintaining a forum for healthcare professionals to share and enhance their understanding of the latest advances in healthcare.
