HA NOI (VNS) — Thang Long Cement JSC donated 1,000 tonnes of cement to northern Quang Ninh Province last week, bringing to 8,000 tonnes the quantity of cement contributed to the province this year.

The latest donation, to be set aside for a new rural construction programme in the province, will be used to build local roads and irrigation projects in Hoanh Bo District, where the company's main plant is located.

The donation is one of the company's commitments towards corporate social responsibility, said Thang Long Cement general director Johan Samudra.

Despite encountering many difficulties, the company has donated more than 12.000 tons of cement, worth VND15 billion (over US$710,000), to other districts across the country for their new rural construction programmes. —VNS
