More than 300 teachers, parents and children exchanged skills and experience in helping children grow to their full potential in the love of the family at a workshop in Bac Ninh Province on April 5.

The workshop, entitled the Human Safety Net’s Sinh Con, Sinh Cha (Born Children, Born Parents), is a community educational programme jointly implemented by the National Fund for Vietnamese Children (NFVC) and Generali Vietnam Life Insurance LLC (Generali Vietnam).

At the workshop, participants focused discussion on three important parenting topics: making plans to spend quality time with children; controlling parenting anger and minimising domestic tensions to avoid hurting the children; and establishing healthy eating routines with nutritious and enjoyable meals for the children. These topics fall under the programme’s three main content groups of intelligence, behaviour and health of children aged 0–6 years.

Speaking at the event, Deputy Minister of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs Nguyen Thi Ha praised Generali’s contribution in Vietnamese children’s development and protection through various initiatives including “Sinh Con, Sinh Cha”, a practical programme that helps parents improve their parenting skills and knowledge in order to offer their children the best start in life and thereby positively impacting their comprehensive development.

“We are delighted when “Sinh Con, Sinh Cha” has quickly gained extensive reach and widespread influence in society thanks to its positive and practical values for Vietnamese children’s comprehensive development. We are also pleased to know that the programme continues to receive great support from both national and local governments to be able to benefit many more parents and families across the country,” said Tina Nguyen, Generali Vietnam CEO.

In 2020, “Sinh Con, Sinh Cha” benefited more than 2,000 parents and children aged 0 – 6 years via local workshops organised in various cities and provinces across Viet Nam.

The progamme’s sitcom series has been successfully published on Generali Vietnam’s official Youtube channel, garnering millions of views, interactions and positive comments. Both Generali and the NFVC aimed to bring the programme to more places and benefit many more families with small children in 2021.

At the event, Generali Vietnam also handed 150 gift sets and 150 programme booklets to children and their parents as well as 30 special gifts in cash to 30 needy families from the local communities. On this occasion, NFVC also donated financial support to 100 underprivileged children of Gia Binh District, Bac Ninh Province.— VNS
