CJ Vina Agri - a member of South Korean CJ Group, has donated an animal feed support package worth VND2 billion (nearly US$87,000) to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.

The package will be handed over to people who have been affected by storms and floods during the past two months in three central provinces of Thua Thien-Hue, Quang Nam and Quang Ngai. It includes 200,000 breeding chickens valued at VND1 billion and 100 tonnes of poultry feed worth VND1 billion.

"This package will be allocated to the hands of the farmers by the provincial authorities so that people can rebuild their economic life at the end of the year," the company said in a statement.

CJ Vina Agri General Director Kim Sun Kang said: “CJ Vina Agri hopes that this support package will partly help many farming households with chicken and pig farming in a difficult situation to have more motivation to start all over again. At the same time, this is also the company’s policy to join hands with the Vietnamese Government to restore agricultural production in the central region."

Previously, CJ Vina Agri launched a voluntary donation with all employees up to VND650 million and other essentials such as blankets and warm clothes to support the central region. This donation was given to households in need in Ha Tinh, Quang Binh, Quang Tri and Hue provinces in early November.

CJ Vina Agri Company has more than 50 years of experience operating in the field of livestock feed, aquaculture and livestock and poultry. The firm has seven animal feed factories and hundreds of livestock and poultry farms nationwide. — VNS
