South Korean CJ Group on Wednesday handed over 100 scholarships worth VND510 million to students from primary school to university level in the Central Highlands province of Lam Dong.

This is the 10th consecutive year that CJ Group has granted scholarships to disadvantaged students who try to make achievements in the province. That has demonstrated the company's responsibility to the community, as well as its corporate social responsibility culture.

Over the past 10 years, CJ Group has awarded more than 1,000 scholarships to poor students in the province.

The group said it will continue this scholarship programme for many more years to come. In addition, CJ Vietnam is always ready to recruit and create job opportunities after graduation for students who have received scholarships from the group.

Chang Bok Sang, chairman and CEO of CJ Group Vietnam, said CJ always has a persistent investment in CSR activities in many fields such as education, culture and agriculture.

"Ten years is not a short journey with a scholarship programme, but we really care and value it firstly because this is the education area - the root of creating and uplifting talents for the country. At the same time, social dedication is the way that CJ repays the trust of the Vietnamese people in our brands," he said.

CJ Group has to date expanded to more than 17 business lines including foods and food services, bio, logistics, entertainment and media, infrastructure and IT, and producing animal feed and livestock. — VNS
