Central Retail Việt Nam on Saturday celebrated the grand opening of its latest shopping centre, GO! Hà Nam, in Phủ Lý City, Hà Nam Province. This marks the 40th GO! shopping mall in the country, a testament to the group’s commitment to expanding its presence across Việt Nam.

With a total investment of VNĐ309 billion (US$12.4 million), GO! Hà Nam offers a diverse range of products and services in its more than 14,000 square metre span. The complex houses a hypermarket with over 40,000 products, a children's play area and 50 well-known domestic and international brands covering food, fashion and household goods. This new destination provides residents of Hà Nam and nearby areas with a modern shopping experience, complete with a variety of services at competitive prices.

At the grand opening, Bùi Nguyễn Anh Tuấn, deputy director of the Domestic Market Department under the Ministry of Industry and Trade, highlighted Hà Nam’s potential for socio-economic development, especially in tourism and logistics services. He emphasised that the opening of GO! Hà Nam would provide a modern shopping and entertainment destination for both local residents and visitors, helping to enhance living standards in the Red River Delta region.

Tuấn also expressed optimism that Hà Nam’s agricultural products and local specialties could now reach a broader market through Central Retail’s nationwide distribution network.

Olivier Langlet, CEO of Central Retail in Việt Nam, said that GO! Hà Nam embodies the group’s commitment to delivering a high-quality shopping experience to the local community. He added that the centre exemplifies Central Retail’s model of “Eat, Play, Shop, Learn and Sustain”, offering customers a holistic experience.

As part of its community outreach, GO! Hà Nam has already donated 500 gift packages to families affected by recent storms in the area, following an initial donation of 200 packages earlier in the month. The mall also provides a two-way bus service, ensuring easy access for shoppers from all regions.

Central Retail’s expansion into Hà Nam is expected to boost the local economy by creating nearly 500 jobs and fostering partnerships with local businesses. Furthermore, the group has pledged to support local education through the initiative “One Shopping Mall, One School,” donating VNĐ2.4 billion to Lam Hạ Primary School to improve infrastructure and support sustainable development. — VNS
