Central Retail in Viet Nam has donated 6,000 COVID-19 quick test kits costing VND700 million (US$30,654) to the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee in Can Tho.

It had already donated 1,500 folding beds worth more than VND750 million ($32,844) to field hospitals No 7 and 8 in Thu Duc City in HCM City, VND10 billion ($437,926) in cash in response to the Government’s call for donations to speed up the COVID-19 vaccination programme, four negative pressure rooms costing VND2 billion to medical facilities in HCM City and Ha Noi, essential medical supplies to frontline healthcare workers, and fruits and vegetables and other necessities to severely affected provinces.

It has also been adopting initiatives to support farmers in Bac Giang and Hai Duong provinces by buying their produce amid the social distancing there. — VNS
